I read about 10 volumes of the graphic novels, which is like 60 issues or something(??)

Basically, if they're any indication, the series could go on for years and won't get any better..

Very little self-reflection, very few social metaphors, not much beyond "I'm gonna protect my family from criminals/bad people/zombies/hunger"

A lil spoiler, later in the comics they hole up in a huge maximum-security prison, which is one of the few interesting plot elements,but they don't really go anywhere with it..
