unfortunately no. I just made it a rule on my communities that nobody is allowed to do that other than moderators and take some action if they fail to comply, usually starting with a post deletion. but its built in that posters can do all the same things to their community posts that they can to their personal journal posts for some reason. it used to be that moderators had all those same priveledges but apparently they decided to take away some of those like the ability to edit text on a post. apparently they decided there was too much potential for abuse.

you'll see the threads where replies are frozen and new comments are screened. like i said, your community, your call. I see it as a usurpation of moderator authority on mine though. I think the hijacking of the moderator role of censorship and screening by ordinary members, who should all be on an equal playing field regardless of who originally made the post, is counterproductive to open, rational discussion in a community setting. thats my two cents.
