Welcome (in advance) to Hogtown. And my friends list. And feel free to drop me a line when you're in town; I'm like the one-woman Toronto Welcoming Committee or something.
omg love the waits icon. what song is that from? I should land on your beaches (aye, this is a cheesy metaphor, but hey) sometime in early July, which is in like a week, depending on how fast my car sells.
how bikefriendly is toronto anyway? haven't been there for like four years..
And love the Chomsky icon. Heh. The lyrics are from "Cold, Cold Ground," which is my favourite Waits song.
Toronto is sort of crap for bikes unless you're a very aggressive driver. We have some bike lanes and a decent Critical Mass on Fridays, but we also have a high cyclist mortality rate. And bike thefts are insane—almost every cyclist I know has had their bike stolen at least once. There's a lot of activism around it now, though, so there's hope.
I've never heard that, thanks! The lyrics are cryptic..it'll take me a while...always love "Step right up" though.
If I have a capable bike, I'm pretty aggressive. The whole theft and death business sounds like crap, but hey, gotta get around eh. I have no idea where I'll be staying though..I hope it's close to downtown(or, is there a neighborhood I should more prefer?).
