I'm with you 100%. I hate pedantic, purely didactic political songs. I've known so many leftists who defended their atrocious musical tastes on the basis of the songs having leftist content. Doesn't form matter at all? I could go read a book about how women contribute to unions, and that'd be fine. But I want a song to be clever and to sound good, too. Ugh.
