I have a backyard garden and I manage to pack more plants in than that! But yeah, you can use a longer lens, tighter shot, stock images even (because I don't understand why he wasn't farming all that land!). It's wild because it was a rural area—I mean, they had chickens and pigs in other shots!—but it looked absolutely unconvincing.

One of the things I teach my kids is that you can shoot on location and still have it not read properly on film. For example, if you were doing a classroom scene in my classroom, the arrangement of desks, computers, the emptiness of the classroom, and the distractions of bags, snacks, etc. would add confusion and lack focus. You'd want the desks lined up in rows, even though practically no high school classroom looks like that these days.
