Last week I was walking to my usual coffeeshop when it started to gently rain (though "gentle rain" here might be taken for a light drizzle or just high humidity other places). As it was almost a 2 km. walk, I was pleasantly damp when I ordered chai and sat down. A few minutes later, someone went out the front door and was fumbing with something. It took me a couple seconds to recognize that what they were doing was opening an umbrella. Things have changed since I lived farther east.
