I will confess to having watched this movie many years ago just because it had Gary Cooper in it (when I was still young and innocent and all I knew of the Fountainhead was that it made Jennifer Grey dump water on smarmy waiter dude on Dirty Dancing), and I really wanted to see a Gary Cooper movie so I could understand the Taco version of Puttin' on the Ritz that much more. I remember thinking that they took architecture far too seriously for me to take the movie seriously at all, and that's pretty much it.
Of course, now I'm much more mature and worldly, Ayn Rand is to be avoided at all cost, and Fred Astaire's version is far preferable. Yes.
