Well, a mix of the lumpen-proletariat and lumpen-petit-bourgeoisie, if you prefer, with haute-bourgeois pulling the strings, but it's not as mellifluous. (All these marxian terms are getting inexact these days anyway.)
I'm not actually quite sure about that "predominantly." I think the class composition of tea gatherings is more expansive than that.
