Okay, it is about two women who ditch a guy and hence must find other ways to fill a hole. I mean, not like that. Maybe like that. People spend a lot of time looking over maps and trading the kind of barbs that one generally needs an English accent for. Most of the episodes revolve around things like someone's shovel getting stolen but it's funnier than it sounds.

I am not really in any fandoms anymore.

I have actually seen Ghost in the Shell but I still couldn't tell you what it was about. It turned out to have much more swearing than was appropriate to show my Anime Club, which was largely composed of 9th graders at the time. The club, I mean, not the show. I didn't see any 9th graders in the show. There were cyborgs and they were pretty hot.

Okay, I have seen Red Dwarf so I'm going to guess at the fandom. There are shipwars between people who are into Lister/Cat and Lister/Rimmer, which is stupid because Lister/curry OTP. The only thing they can all agree on is that Kristine Kochanski is an evil bitch who gets in the way of the boys. Oh, and there is also a lot of Rimmer/Ace Rimmer for lulz. All of the fics are absolutely angsty and are written by Americans who genuinely think that Brits say "smeg" all the time.

You know how most fandoms are mostly porn?

For Lost Girl, it is all porn. Most of it involves Photoshop self-inserts with a certain "my hed iz pastede on yay" quality.

If it involves Tim Minear (I love him by the way), there's some sort of spooky thing with dark scenes lit with blue or brown. Without even looking it up, I am going out on a limb and guessing that there's a male and female lead. He's hotheaded, she's sort of cool and reserved, and they have a lot of sexual tension but don't actually hook up. 90% of the fic written on Pit of Voles is about them. Elsewhere, there's some side character with whom the male lead has better chemistry, and that is all over LJ. 10% of the fic is actually case-driven and relatively well-written.

It's too much to hope that it's mostly about Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane hooking up, isn't it?

I saw some Spider-Man porn. It was angsty and gritty and involved Wolverine. I can't say I disapproved entirely but you'd think those claws and that suit would be not the greatest combination, although I guess that was kind of the point.

Good enough in my books.

It has a cast of thousands so I don't know about shipwars (other than that there are those freaks who ship the giant turtle with Death) but I'm guessing the vast majority of wank is between old school fans and kids who are reading the books for an independent novel study in junior high, and then posting their English assignments to the Pit of Voles. Also, all of the porn is about Vimes and they make him pretty for no good reason.

They do not have a fandom as such, because their tradition is Tijuana Bibles, which are dirtier than anything fanfic writers can come up with. They don't have flamewars either, just epic porn battles.
