Don Cherry is a douche. This isn't news, I just thought I should mention it. Also, that suit is fucking horrible.

Ontario's ombudsman reports that McGuinty's secret law but not really a law was illegal. Rumour has it he will next investigate the preferred defecation grounds of bears.

You might not have seen this in the news back in May, but there is currently a Charter of Rights and Freedoms challenge around homelessness and inadequate housing. You can find more information here and here.

sabs, have you blogged about the wikileaks thing at all? I keep wondering what you would have to say about it. I suspect it would be smart and give me some new insights. But no pressure; I know what a teacher's life is like.

Oh man. I don't know what I can say that hasn't already been said better. But:

1) The WikiLeaks people, as WikiLeaks people, are goddamned heroes.
2) Anyone who calls for Assange's assassination, including Palin and that dude from the Conservative Party, should be charged with uttering death threats up to conspiracy to commit murder, depending on their ability to actually carry out said assassination.
3) I have not seen the evidence for or against Assange as it applies to the alleged sexual assault. He may have done it, in which case he's entitled to a fair trial. However, since the local cops don't generally bother with going after rapists, I am glad to see Interpol taking that up and hope they will go after all the rapists with as much gusto and determination.
