Also, I finally saw Three Kings last night (it seemed appropriate, given the anniversary) because a whole bunch of people told me that it was good. It was, for about the first half. Is it me, or does it feel like they had to splice a different movie in there so that American audiences wouldn't feel that bad about themselves?

I don't know Yiddish either. Knowing Yiddish isn't necessary to know this particular fact. I knew the word before starting school. People in my family said these are "Hamantashen".

As for Yiddish, I know a few words maybe. Tried to take a course once, but I think I'd have liked it better if it had been in the Roman alphabet. I do know the Hebrew alphabet, but it's hard for me to make it work for a second language.
