No.

Liliany Obando is a union activist; the FARC and the Colombian labour movement aren't exactly friendly with each other. What the article doesn't mention is that when the Colombian government or business elite interests want to get someone, all they need to do is say "terrorist" and they have carte blanche. Doesn't mention Canada's interest in Colombia either.

Anyway, local folks: Please try to make it out to the Tranzac for the fundraiser on January 9th (that's this Saturday). I'll be there, and it should be good times for a good cause.

(Maybe it's because I've been a Wobbly for so long that I got kind of excited about this article, even though it contains a lot of misinformation. "Hey! It's my union! In the news!" I'm still not used to that. Although of course my union is in the news all the time and subject to a great deal of media scrutiny.)

I read that article the other day and was happy that people couldn't comment on it. Articles like this (and online forums in general) tend to attract people who make an art out of talking about stuff they know nothing about.

I got spammed in Japanese a few times. At least, I think it was spam. I don't know why anyone would think I spoke Japanese, though.

I was relieved that comments were disabled, because four things that cause comments that in turn cause me to hate humanity: teachers, unions, leftists, and terrorism.
