Sheriff Boring is actually an English actor named Andrew Lincoln. He was on some very angsty English supernatural drama wherein he played a psychologist or something with mucho manpain, and he was writing a book about a medium and he started out thinking she was crazy but then it turned out that she really was crazy but also much more awesome than him and she actually did see dead people and they solved ghost mysteries for a while, and then he died.
