I think people have very different views of what can be called "intelligent." I assume you can't get into Yale without a high level of academic achievement, as is the case with Oxford and Cambridge here, but, as over here, if you come from a very wealthy family with a history of going to Oxbridge and a private education you need less intelligence to achieve that level than if you come from a household of poorly educated people with no books or culture of academic stuff. So hey ho. Maybe he is an average guy with bizarre speech writers.

Weird, the stuff they get up to in America. I wish we could just think, "how amusingly fucked up!" and leave them to it, but alas they attempt to worldy-dominate and it is scary.
