Actually, no! (My brother had the excellent sense to develop appendicitis on his wedding day. My sister found him at 4am, lying in a pool of vomit on the bathroom floor, croaking, "It's just nerves." They were able to get married at the hospital, but he couldn't have anything stronger than paracetamol or the marriage certificate wouldn't be valid. So there are some wonderful photos of my brother, in his suit, looking really happy and really nauseated, and then my brother being taken away in a wheelchair by the surgical team while his new wife stands awkwardly in the corridor. Great stuff.)
