Warren Beatty did it pretty good in Reds. Granted, you could read that movie as anti-Communist as Reagan probably did, but at heart it's about people who had radical ideas about changing society, saw them put into action in Russia and then started to realize that making speeches was a lot easier than actually running things (but it ends with the death of the main character before the Communists started killing each other for their lack of ideological impurity.)
Of course, I'm more inclined to love the anti-Communist writings of George Orwell since they are from a socialist perspective and the Communists were fucking evil at one point (as opposed to now when they are just useless)
