interview meme
Apr. 29th, 2005 02:02 pmDa rules, for those of you who aren't sick of these things...
1. You ask to be interviewed.
2. I ask you five questions, personalized insofar as I know you well enough to do it.
3. You answer those questions in an entry on your own journal, and solicit interviewees in turn.
Questions from
dobrovolets...
1. Though this wasn't true for earlier (roughly, pre-1967) generations, Zionism is now an ideological default settings for those of us raised Jewish; for those who come to reject and oppose it there are usually certain events or arguments that proved pivotal in our political development. Single out one event that had such an effect for you. Or tell me why you think this question is off-base.
( I can think of several. )
2. I happen to visit Toronto, or you happen to visit New York. You go to a demonstration or meeting or other such event, and see someone who you have strong reason to believe might be me. But he is selling a newspaper/magazine/handing out a leaflet. Do you give him the time of day?
( You don't honestly think I'm that sectarian, do you? )
3. Did you already tell the story of how you got expelled from NEFAC? If you have, give us the link. If you haven't, is there a good reason for you to keep shtum about it? If not--spill.
( Did I tell that story? I probably did. )
4. Quebec secedes. For whatever reason, the Canadian federal government decides to let it go down peacefully, with no threats of military intervention or attempts to redraw the border. How does this effect your life?
( Well, that depends... )
5. At some point in your lifetime, the Palestinians achieve their demands to an extent and in a fashion that you consider pretty close to optimal (whatever that may be). Do you visit Palestine? If so, where is the first place you would go?
( I probably won't wait that long. )
