The video begins with Ford walking out of a Circle K convenience store as two people behind the camera shout his name.

 

"Yo Doug, yo man, I want to ask you a couple questions, man" says one as he approaches the Premier from inside a moving vehicle.

 

Always game for an interaction with the public, Ford walks up to the young men calling for his attention with a big smile on his face.

 

"I heard you don't like the Somali people," says one young man as Ford leans in toward the car's window.

 

"Oh brother," says Ford. "You've gotta be kidding me. We've been taking good care of them for 40 years!"

 

The young men disagree and chide Ford as he walks away for "not dealing with us like your bro [late former City of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford] did."

"You're dissin' fam! And you're dissing my people that go to school?" shouts one of the young men. "You're a waste yute! You're a waste yute, my n****!"
 

 

"Goof!" shouts another at Ford as he gets into his truck. "You're a goof!"

There you have it. In addition to being a Timbit, Drug Fraud is a waste yute and also a goof. Not all heroes wear capes.

A few more good news items in the day

As you know (you know about this, right?), India's government, which is led by the corrupt, far-right Modi, recently passed the anti-Muslim Citizen Amendment Act. There are widespread protests and things are looking very, very bad, but I'm going to give you one little spark of hope, which is that protestors in West Bengal came up with a truly ingenious way to block a highway.

According to a report by the Calcutta News TV, police personnel witnessed the scene as mute spectators while men chopped onions, potatoes and tomatoes to prepare biryani on the blocked road.

 

This has raised questions over the kind of protest. Police personnel did try to disperse the men making biryani but failed to do so as the protesters surrounded them.

More biryani-based protests please!

As I'm sure you also know, I consider Brazil's Bolsonaro to be the single greatest threat to continued human existence on the planet. And it looks like his terrible environmental policies have come back to bite him on the ass. Or the ear. Anyway he might have cancer. This is the rare time where I'm rooting for the cancer.
