My latest review, in which there is a threesome and a magic missile spell, is up! Gosh, I'm almost at the end of this thing: two more episodes to go.

In IRL news, Project Rid My House Of Animal Products 2016 has begun in earnest. Yesterday lienne and cupric_acetate came over and we made this beauty with the remaining eggs:




It's called a Pavlova and is basically a giant meringue, covered in whipped coconut cream and fruit. I think it has cured me of my hankering for meringue, at least until I figure out how to veganize it.

The only remaining dairy/eggs in my house are a bit of cream, half a tub of yogurt, some ice cream, and some egg noodles. Once that's gone, I can put in for my Self-Righteous Vegan Militia card or whatever you call it.

Tonight I'm hopefully going to see the Cure for free. They're playing not far from my house, at an expensive music festival that I have no desire to see, but apparently if you're outside the park, you can hear everything just fine. If we can't, or we get chase off, there's also the option of going for a pint. So, regardless, a win.

I've been doing some preliminary investigating into whether it's possible for me (given lifestyle, history of osteoporosis in the family, places I frequent to eat) and the answer appears to be yes. Didn't want to make any big announcements until I'd worked out a plan.

I'm going to end up bailing. My quick IKEA expedition turned out to not be so quick after all, and that + an attack of the sads left me low on spoons and wanting some solitude and an early night. Have fun, though!

What about the cats? Are they going to see the Cure go vegan?

The cats have no desire to leave the house or hang out in crowds of people. Nor do they have any desire (or physical capability) to stop eating meat.

I had cats for years, but now I have a dog. He wants to go everywhere, and loves his vegetables.

I used to have a cat that liked spinach. These two have no interest in non-catnip plants beyond knocking them over.

One of my cats liked cauliflower, and this dog likes quantities of mixed vegetables. He gets miffed when it's just peas, or not enough. Not really surprising, because dogs are actually omnivores.

I heard about, but have not tried this: allegedly, the liquid from a can of chickpeas can be whipped with sugar into a merengue.

I have heard this as well, and plan to try it. Only...not for awhile. I think I'm merengued out.

In my experience there really is not such thing as a quick IKEA expedition, no matter what intentions we start with.

I can guess the reason for the sad attack; if it's the one I'm thinking of, I have have more angries than sads :-(

I got caught up in adulting so missed most of their set, but got down in time to hear the last few songs through the fence in company of sundry other Cure fans. IIRC: Just Like Heaven, Close to Me, Why Can't I Be You?, and Boys Don't Cry.

I don't recall IKEA being quite so user-unfriendly. They do, however, have the only cheap and reasonably sized patio furniture I can find, and given that last year someone (presumably a drunk someone) went through the seat of one of my patio chairs, the patio furniture does need to be replaced.

I have both angries and sads. Probably more angry, because I tend to anger these days, but also unexpected waves of grief throughout the day and just—queasiness? I don't know. Like I had to keep a close eye on strangers passing me on the street, that kind of thing.

For future reference, how's the acoustics from outside?
