That's pretty adorable. At 40 I don't understand tripartite deities either.
I think for me it's the sheer joy Lewis takes from his faith. He sees beauty in it, and it bleeds through into the writing. Even though I ultimately disagree he's so clearly driven by his argument that it becomes worth engaging.
