The school board is pretty bad. The union is also bad but at least there's internal pushback. We get sent mental wellness emails that do the opposite to me and include "African" and "Chinese" proverbs that were written by white missionaries.
They're quite good at adopting progressive language to ram through reactionary policy. Streaming is a real problem, with Black kids being forced into lower level classes, and families and teachers have been speaking out about it for years. And now they've finally decided to get rid of it! Yay! Except it's not because they give a shit about Black kids, but because you can pack more kids into academic classes, so you don't need as many teachers.
