It's admittedly a big shift to view the police as corrupt and inequitable in their enforcement of the law to understanding that structurally, the job of policing actually has nothing to do with enforcing the law as most people conceive of it. Because not only does that go against a lifetime of cultural conditioning, but the realization that we as a society have outsourced our entire defences to warlords who want to murder us is hella scary.
