1. I should point out that it's a Russian Constructivist manifesto; while they were arguably part of the broader Futurist movement, they're a world away from Marinetti et al.
In the case of Mayakovsky and the other Russian Futurists, I admire his energy, his urge to smash artistic and literary conventions, his odd combination of fearlessness and sadness, and his political convictions. With the Italian Futurists, it's pretty much the first two (with the exception, perhaps, of Severnini and Sant'Elia, who had decent politics).
