Oh hey, I just read that earlier tonight courtesy Ruthanna Emrys and Anne M. Pillsworth's discussion of it on Reading the Weird earlier this month (that I finally got to)! https://reactormag.com/sustainable-hauntings-three-modern-works-to-celebrate-poetry-month/ I got right off that it had to do with historical doomed wintry expeditions, though I haven't read or seen *the terror*.
