And ideological flexibility is one of the ear marks of fascism.
I don't mean that flexibility makes one a fascist, but that fascist groups have historically been ideologically agile in their quest for power. For example, there was the Night of Long Knives in which the Nazis murdered their anti-capitalist members. Stalin's maneuverings between the "World Revolution" and "Socialism in One Country" camps also fit in this tendency.
