Christ, I hope I'm not coming across as a know-it-all asshole, but a lot of this stuff is all so typical. For example, I love articles written by people who are shocked to learn that so many Skinhead Nazis come from middle class suburban neighborhoods and that they have international pen pals on the internet. Fascist groups in different countries have always compared notes and cooperated. Ever hear of the Axis powers? And while militarism has always been a factor in the fascist mentality, a violent middle class consciousness has always been part of it too. It may recruit laid off members of the proletariat who want to join the bourgeoisie, but its thrust has always been the violent enforcement of the middle class values - hence the rhetoric of defending "good neighborhoods," assaulting "indecent art," etc.
