A friend of mine gets The Southern Poverty Law Center's Intelligence Report and has been passing along her old issues to me. They have been covering the Minute Men along with the rest of the Militia Movement and it seems these guys are always scamming their membership and that's what they usually get nabbed for - sort of like Al Capone getting nabbed for not paying income taxes.
I wonder about the Intelligence Report, though. They seem almost more pro-cop than anti-racist. In the time I have been getting issues, 4 NYC police officers emptied their 11-round clips into an unarmed black man and 2 Louisville police officers emptied their 11-round clips into an unarmed black men. Yet there is nary a word about racial profiling, racist cops, police brutality, killer cops, etc. in the Intelligence Report. Yet, a single approving mention of Earth First on a Nazi discussion board merits an article on "eco-terrorism"? I thought their beat was supposed to be racist hate groups. The "Law Enforcement Training" item on the sidebar explains a great deal.
On a snark note, in the paper format, the editor has an emo photo of himself looking down. It makes me either grimace or giggle.
