Well, alcohol is kind of an oral tradition. It's taken orally, generally. Actually I rather suspect that an awful lot of variations in oral tradition may be down to alchohol. Drunken sailors is an improvement though. That's the great thing about oral tradition. Like an evolutionary process. Except no guarantee of survival of the fittest.
