Election Blogging, part 1

So we're having an election in Ontario, and I just realized I haven't done any election-blogging yet. Bad me! It's an entertaining one, too, with John Tory the Tory basing his campaign around the asinine idea of funding all faith-based schools and then backing down when he realized that no one with two brain cells to rub together actually supports this. So now he's promising a free vote. Which he will lose.
(Though it makes me wonder: If there was guaranteed funding for faith-based schools, could I get a government grant to set up a school for Cthulhu worship? Because that would be awesome.)
The other hilarious thing about the election was the obligatory discussion on CBC about voter apathy and low turnouts. They credited this to the following:
a) Both John Tory and Dalton McSquinty suck, so no one cares
b) Voter fatigue.
It's the phenomenon of voter fatigue that I find funny. I mean, gosh, it's so tiring, seeing election signs and practicing your token participation in a sham of a political system once every four years. Imagine how tiring it is to actually care.
This is actually the most important election we've had since the province was stupid enough to elect Harris, because there's a referendum on whether Mixed-Member Proportional representation should replace the current first-past-the-post system. As far as I can tell, Toronto is largely in favour of it, and apparently they have no idea what it is outside of Toronto. Which is not surprising. I'm still betting it'll pass, but I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.
P.S. You are not allowed to vote Green.
