While I think that city council functions better without him there, will you check out the Honourable Wife-Beater's litany of excuses for skipping out on a council meeting?

"I only missed two hours. A semi-final football game. It's the playoffs. We're undefeated. We're number two in the city."

Number two! Do you hear that, heartless left-wing bike-riding pinkos? They're number two! What are your piddly civic politics in comparison to that?

"I'm not a quitter. I made a commitment; I commit to things. Maybe you guys have a different way of doing things, but I don't."

This is a low blow and I don't care whether people diet or not. But.

There was a fight and Ford's team had to be escorted home on a police-ordered TTC bus.

“If I wasn’t there, it could have gotten really ugly,” Mr. Ford told reporters after he returned to council. “I think you should talk to the school board and police. I controlled my team.”

He also had some stupid left over for council.

"Streetcars: people do not want."

It's going to be a lot harder to write these posts when the Star goes paywall. Sigh.

Also - I can't believe Ford's only 330. I weigh 20% more than him (supposedly) and I don't *think* I look that fat (or shit - maybe I do and don't even realize it, and man that scares me!)

People carry it differently, though. Someone recently was shocked when I told her what size clothes I typically wear. I wouldn't worry too much. I mean, even if you were that fat, I wouldn't worry too much.

Oh godddddd. I find this whole story incredibly hard to understand, but that's not your write-up. That's a world in which a Mayor prefers a brawly coaching session over a citywide transportation debate, and after that I can't follow but I'm pretty sure I follow this whole thing better than Mayor Ford.

He is very thick. I don't think he follows much. Especially not complex issues like how to set up a transit system that will service a ballooning metropolis.
