The ZOMG Game of Thrones countdown begins
Mar. 28th, 2013 05:37 pmI gather some of you are celebrating some sort of religious festivity this weekend, but possibly an even larger percentage of you are, like me, gearing up for the season 3 Game of Thrones premiere on Sunday. Which I'm doing by mainlining the last two seasons and dorkishly making playlists. So just in case you were in danger of running out of music, have a mixtape celebrating what is to come.
Disclaimer the first: Totally cheating in that a few of the songs are from the show/book.
Disclaimer the second: It's under the cut because the title itself is spoilery and if you Google at least two of the song titles, you will also get spoilers.

Track list:
1. "Game of Thrones Intro (Accordion Cover)," Gustavo Toscan Da Silva
2. "Age of Kings," The Mountain Goats
3. "Johnny Be Fair," Sheila Ryan
4. "Little Lion Man," Mumford & Sons
5. "What Keeps Mankind Alive," Tom Waits
6. "I Want To Conquer the World," Bad Religion
7. "The Bear and the Maiden Fair," Irish Moutarde
8. "In the Dark Places," P.J. Harvey
9. "Immigrant Song," Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Karen O
10. "In Days To Come," Sol Invictus
11. "White Wedding," Billy Idol
12. "The Rains of Castomere," The National
Link to totally pirated music here.
If you're actually more dorky than me and throwing a viewing party*, here are some recipes. Again, spoilers.
* And didn't invite me? Feh.

Date: 2013-03-29 12:26 am (UTC)I am pretty excited for Doctor Who, though for some reason I thought the premiere wasn't happening until April and I wouldn't get to see it until much later.

Date: 2013-03-29 12:25 am (UTC)I understand that there is a feeling out there that Mumford and Sons is overplayed, and I even understand the rationale, but I strongly disagree that there can be too much Mumford and Sons. I'm only sad that I didn't get to see them live before they were cool.
Speaking of piracy, I heard at least one of the producers of GoT said he doesn't mind it if people pirate. I don't have a TV so it's not like I have another option, and I'll eventually buy a very expensive boxed set of the books.
