cupric_acetate and lienne came over and we made space cupcakes. They're almond-vanilla with orange merengue frosting.
There are still some in my fridge because they are giant cupcakes and the frosting makes them difficult to transport.

Date: 2016-01-17 10:32 pm (UTC)So you take the icing, separate it into three or four bowls, and dye it. We used powder and gel dyes; the gel ones were stronger. Our colours were black with some blue and violet mixed in because the black turned out grey on its own, dark violet, smurf blue, and light violet/blue.
Then you take a very large piping sleeve and spoon it in so that there's a glob on each side. The first ones we did weren't colourful enough but by the time it got to three or four, they were coming out really well.
For the stars, I had some edible silver dust, silver balls, and white sugar sprinkles.
I may need to go eat one now.
