Things got worse during the LJ blackout. I don't really want to talk about it right now. Expect not a lot of fun from me from here on in.

In the meantime, here's a funny thing that happened:

ETA: Yes, that song actually was playing when Marinetti pulled his not-so-suave move. Sometimes the universe does line up in my favour. Just not, y'know, when I want it to.

Yes! That cartoon is priceless and certainly captures the feeling in relation to the event. ( Says the lady who has been on the receiving end of kitties who fall into the tub) No awkwardly placed scratches I hope?

Sorry to hear that things have gone from bad to worse by you.
I still do not have my lj back, but when I so I will try to find lots of kitty things to post for you.

My one cat, Charlotte, does that on a weekly basis. And I'm not even exaggerating. You'd think she'd learn? So much for operant conditioning...

xo. sorry things got worse.

Porn and kitty.

... Your journal is like some kind of... cool-black-hole, that sucks all coolness in.

Also: My cat P (who I miss very much) loved water. He used to jump up on me while I was showering. Hee. He was a bit of a freak, that one.

that's one disgruntled kitty. Poor bugger. The same thing happened to Tibs when he was younger.

hee! my baby kitty likes to sit on the corner of the bathtub while I'm in it, right up close to my head with her tail curled around my shoulders. she likes to try and drink the bath water, and I'm forever trying to covertly tip her into the water (if I did it in an obvious way, she'd remember, and I still have to be asleep and defenceless around her).

sometimes I just dip her tail into the water when it's at about body temperature, just to see how long it takes her to notice...

why are cats so damn obsessed with being around us when we're taking a bath, anyway?

LOL!!! My cat did that at my parents' house two years ago -- they had just returned from skiing and mom had drawn her bath ["soaking tub" -- deep]. She was making tea in the kitchen and heard [WHUMP!] -- sent dad to investigate -- found my "drowned rat" just outside bathroom door shivering and licking; pride was injured but Mieauo was not.

Poor Marinetti!

I was wishing I had my digital camera (sort of) when I was in the tub yesterday morning. Salamander was sitting on my knee, leaning waaaay over, and drinking the tub water. I'm wondering if I should worry - does she think hot water is tastier when I'm in it? Does she want human soup?

I love the illustrations. So much better than the comics in the paper.

Greatest Cat Story Ever.

Regarding the cat antic, count yourself lucky that he didn't draw any blood in the water. Often panicked cats turn into blenders to scramble out of the tub. This happened quite a bit with Merlin and the good-ex. I have unintentionally avoided this by favoring showers - although I have a good shower story:

The plumber was doing pipework and left a big hole in the shower wall for the theoretical tile guy to repair. To avoid getting water in the wall, I duct-taped a black garbage bag over the hole in the meantime. (You can tell where this is going.) While taking a shower, I hear this sudden and unsettling keening. It is un-earthly and emanating from everywhere. I couldn't imagine what it was until a sudden bulge formed in the plastic and slithered over the the right. It was, of course, Dot - who was just as surprised by the surrounding sounds that I was making.

Plot Clarification:

I had not taped Dot inside the wall. I had only taped the top part of the garbage bag to form a sort of curtain (so the shower had both an inner and outer curtain). After the incident, I taped down a cardboard barrier and covered that with plastic, sealing it all around.
