You know that Ann Coulter interview I mentioned the other day? Now you can watch it on teh interwebs, even if you don't get CBC. I'll even ignore McKeown's grammatical flub at the end because the rest of the exchange is so funny.

Ann Coulter getting pwned

Coulter: "Canada used to be one of our most loyal friends and vice-versa. I mean Canada sent troops to Vietnam - was Vietnam less containable and more of a threat than Saddam Hussein?"

McKeown interrupts: "Canada didn't send troops to Vietnam."

Coulter: "I don't think that's right."

McKeown: "Canada did not send troops to Vietnam."

Coulter (looking desperate): "Indochina?"

McKeown: "Uh no. Canada ...second World War of course. Korea. Yes. Vietnam No."

Coulter: "I think you're wrong."

McKeown: "No, took a pass on Vietnam."

Coulter: "I think you're wrong."

McKeown: "No, Australia was there, not Canada."

Coulter: "I think Canada sent troops."

McKeown: "No."

Coulter: "Well. I'll get back to you on that."

McKeown tags out in script:

"Coulter never got back to us -- but for the record, like Iraq, Canada sent no troops to Vietnam."

Hahahaha.....

I've heard of this exchange before. This almost as funny as seeing Andrew Sullivan head almost explode as he accused Noam Chomsky of being a holocaust denyer and a Soviet propagandist during the Cold War when Bill Maher had the chutzpah to interview Noam on the same show Sullivan appeared on.

I was able to find this site of Quicktime (doesn't work on my university's PC) clip here:

Here is a transcript of the interview and the follow-up (Chomsky was on live satellite feed, Sullivan was in the studio) here:

By far the best exchange of the show and more evidence that Sullivan is not the brightist blub in the box:

SULLIVAN: What?! He thinks that in discussion of Saddam Hussein he should raise the issue of Nuremberg trials for the United States? [audience reacts] Well, yes. Welcome to the world view of the far left, in which the United States is the source of evil and Saddam Hussein is actually a source of good.

MAHER: Yeah, I don’t agree with that.

SULLIVAN: That is why you lost this election. And that, frankly, is why you deserve to lose this election. [audience reacts] When you have so--

MAHER: Well, you said you voted for Kerry! So you lost it, too! [applause]

SULLIVAN: Well, no, I voted.

MAHER: That’s who you voted for!

SULLIVAN: I decided, on the basis of the competence of what was going in Iraq and fiscal reasons and all sorts of things.

MAHER: Bup-bup-bup-bup.

>>>>>>>>> Yup, Sullivan is a douchebag.

Oh Coulter is always getting caught with her facts wrong in televised debates. In this classic exchange with Alan Dershowitz, she claims that Thomas Jefferson was never president (he was our 3rd) and that Alexander Hamilton was (he wasn't) She at least quasi-retracts her Hamilton claim:

DERSHOWITZ: You've got the wrong president, Ann. Ann, you've got the wrong president. It wasn't Alexander Hamilton, it was Andrew Johnson.

COULTER: Sorry, sorry. He wasn't -- Alexander Hamilton wasn't impeached.

DERSHOWITZ: He was shot.

you know, i read that last senetence as "Canada didn't send no troops to Vietnam"
And then i remembered homeboy was canadian.

also, i may be projecting, but i think i detect the panic of not knowing what the fuck one is talking about on coulter's face.

yeah, i watched that tonight. Classic! I kept screaming "eeediot" through the entire thing.

My most favourite part was when someone said that the more you watch Fox News the stupider you become.
