My cynical lifetime theory has always been, the more conservative and rigid male political leaders are, the greater the probability they're abusive in some way in private (since they are, in public! basically!). Probability goes up sky-high if they're "religious" (fundamental/evangelical Christian) in any way.

Hasn't steered me wrong so far.
