Who do I need to debate, slander, or assassinate to end up on discoverthenetwork.org? I'm almost as disappointed as when I didn't make the Masada2000 S.H.I.T. list two years in a row. Of course, this site is still new.

I got very excited, though, because I saw the (somewhat uncommon) last name of a friend of mine and went all "wheee...can't wait to tell him," but it turned out that it was someone else.

EDIT: D. and C. just said they are coming to Chicago with me in June in a chaperone capacity. Way to spoil all of my fun, guys. I think they were joking, but you never know.

EDIT THE SECOND: Holy shit. Speaking of the Wobblies and the evil leftist conspiracy, lovableatheist found this. Which is super-funny, because you'd think an ex-Trot like Horowitz would know the difference between anarchism and Marxism. Best line? "Espouses the philosophy of syndicalism, a violent form of anarchism," since syndicalism is probably one of the least violent modes of social struggle (after sitting on the road and getting your head bashed in, which is arguably not a form of social struggle).

My alma mater has riots and it's not on there. Of course, they're Canadian riots and it's a Canadian university, but they should show some respect, I think.

We should make trading cards. Offhand, I've met Ali Abunimah, Ilan Pappe, and Robert Meeropol, but the vast majority of people on there are American. The best part of that site is the visual map, though, considering it lacks anything vaguely resembling context. (e.g., Al-Awda and the International Socialists are "connected," in the sense that some folks in Al-Awda go for beers with ISers and then make fun of them, but that's hardly an international conspiracy.)
