So I've been avoiding doing that "10 things I've done that you probably haven't" meme because given my significant lack of revolutionary, literary, and/or just plain cool credentials, most things I've done that you haven't aren't exactly things that I'd recommend or be proud of.

By the way, I've been wondering. On MSN Messenger, when someone sends the following emoticon:

...does it mean "I am sending you e-hugs" or "I am sending you e-zombies"?

EDIT: I'm finally going home from the comma mines! But I needed to share the best line I've heard about Hunter S. Thompson's suicide -- I can't remember who said it, so if it's you, speak up.

That was last night. I went despite being tired and ill. It did not follow the pattern of Dates #1 and 2. Not certain if there will be a Date #4 or not. Oh well.

I did warn him I was sniffly. Maybe he's just paranoid about germs. Or maybe I'm no longer sufficiently mysterious.

A plausible explanation

What was he aiming the gun at...? It's easy. He was in despair after his e-crush de-friended him. He was chatting online with an online friend who tried to console him by sending him a bunch of e-hugs. Unfortunately, Hunter had just taken acid and it was the first time chatting on MSN; he preferred Yahoo Messenger, which is perfectly understandable, but not his friend. Mistaking this harmless gesture of support with a zombie, Hunter thought a zombie invasion was afoot. He went through the stages of denial, resistance, picked up a shotgun aimed it at the computer screen, but relaxing his gaze he saw on the mirrorlike screen his own reflection. "Zombies," he said. "Zombies!! I won't be a zombie. I won't sell out! I won't become a zombie!!" At this point, he turned around the muzzle of the shotgun, took the barrel in his mouth and pulled the trigger.

The great American writer would still be with us had it not been for a simple misunderstanding, borne in the shape of a sinister e-hug, which may be an e-zombie.
