So why not just not talk about it that will totally make gay people go away because there were never gay people before we started talking about gay people

I actually sympathize as I don't want to teach kids about sex either, bu that's why I don't teach family studies, phys. ed., or grade school.

When I was in middle school, sex ed was taught by the science teachers as a two-part course called "Family Living."

2) Weaken it (regress to standards that suit their agenda)
3) Claim the institution is failing its stated purpose (ignoring your explicit contribution to that failure)

In fairness, Beckett and Giguère are ADMs, so basically civil servants in the position of having explain policy to an incoming minister using the smallest words possible.

Ignorance of the system time: Are they party appointments or, like, general people who have a permanent job regardless?

Bit of each? Deputy Ministers and Assistant Deputy Ministers are basically the highest ranking civil servants, and in theory are politically neutral, but could be replaced by an incoming government. That said these aren’t patronage appointments so they’d need to be replaced by another suitably qualified civil servant.

I will never understand the "transgender is a sexual orientation" thing. It makes 0 sense even by the logic of willfully ignorant people.

Think about it. For a lot of these people trans people aren't whichever gender they id with, they're whatever their genitals were when they were born. This means by their own logic labels like gay, straight, and bi would be enough (like, to them a straight trans guy would just be a lesbian, etc.), so I don't know why they insist on using transgender if they don't understand what it means anyway.

I think expecting them to logic like a regular person who doesn't care who fucks who or what strangers' genitals look like is possibly too high an expectation.
