 So for those of you who don't follow Canadian politics, there's a convoy of pro-pipeline yellow-vest (it means something different in North America—the fascists have adopted it) demonstrators that was headed to Ottawa. They present themselves as a grassroots protest movement but they're astroturf and supported by the likes of Faith Goldy and Maxime Bernier.

Anyway, they apparently are now stranded in Ottawa because the organizer took off with the gas money.

You can't make this shit up.

This is almost as good as when the anti-refugee protestors had to be rescued from their boat by the same people who were rescuing refugees.

This is even better! Because I was pissed that the Coast Guard were being diverted from rescuing innocent people.

Given that the zeitgeist of the Right seems to be "I was greedy all my life, now I'll be greedy for you", it is nice to see them forced to confront that corrupt assholes are only ever on their own side. It's like the ending to every con movie ever.

Yeah I really enjoyed it, and I think it won the Hugo. It features an artifical island/continent created by anarchists so I was wondering if that's what you were referred to. It might be a bit dated now because it was written when genetic manipulation was a new thing but it's pretty good nonetheless, fun politics.

I have been thinking about this. In particular, there was that young black woman who claimed that her family had cut her off for being a Trump supporter and did a GoFundMe to pay for her college fees. Tons of MAGA types donated and then she was all, "lol pwned." They seem to fall for any kind of scam so we should get in on that action and use the money for legal fees for refugees.
