Critical support for oat milk.

Pros: Lowest carbon footprint, best texture
Cons: They only had the vanilla kind, which tastes good but I think I'd prefer no flavour in my coffee other than coffee

I used to make my own oat milk, back when I had time and before plant-based milks had really taken off.

Funny what davesmusictank says over on the LJ side: "unless you are lactose intolerant:" "lactose intolerance" is a nod by omnivores to mean, "Okay, I get it; you can't drink milk. Case closed."

I mean, I am lactose intolerant too. Apparently that happens to 75% of people when they stop drinking milk every day.

They just started getting oat milk at the health food store across the street from me, and I'd tried it for the first time at a café a few days before. Apparently it was an accidental order, but people went apeshit for it and I bought the last carton, so they're thinking they'll probably stock it from now on.

Oh, definitely; humans were never meant to drink the mammary secretions of another species, so it's an evolutionary trick that some humans have continued to produce lactase past the time they're weaned. I tend to think I'd get sick if I got some dairy milk by accident at this late date, but that's a good thing, IMO.

People here just couldn't contain themselves when Oatley hit the shelves here.
