*stares at the copy on the bookshelf and yet again wonders if the library replacement fine would be less than the cost a copy from amazon, and which would be more ethical*
The cheapest copy on Amazon is $54 American funny-money, and it's not as though Amazon is the paragon of ethics.
Still, I appreciate that no one stole it from the University of Toronto library, since that's the copy I'm reading right now. (And will give back, as it's on my friend's card.)

I found it for $45 on Abe Books which is an world-wide, on-line network of mom & pop bookstores, if that helps. Unfortunately, the shipping from Beirut, Lebanon would probably make it more expensive, albeit cooler.
Tear the magnetic strip out of the spine, smuggle the sucker out, and tell the library that the copy that they were supposed to have is missing and you really need it for the class you're teaching next semester, so will they please get a new copy?
I found a copy of that book in our campus library...took it out and got halfway through but had to stop as I was sick and tired of Palestinian issues at the time to be honest, and needed a break from it.
It's a good book...very...radical...but interesting.
Update: I just saw Sara. She jumped up and down and was all, "SQUEEEE! KITTEH!" which means, I think, that she wants him. She's moving May 1st, and apparently any time after the 3rd is good. (If it's an emergency, I can take him until then.) She also wants to know if she needs to buy a litterbox or any cat paraphernalia. But kitty's definitely a go from her end.
jenn has two litterboxes, a carrier, toys, food bowl, and sundries for kirby. we will definitely be getting up there after may 3rd. (do you have sara's email address, or number, so jenn or i can get in touch?) <3!! ! (and thank you thank you thank you!)
