Still reading: Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer. It's not even that long a book. I just finding myself rolling over each word, each turn of phrase, wanting to savour it. This is seriously one of the best non-fiction books I've read in my life.

I have a big stack of to-read books. Mainly physical books for the first time in awhile.

Every time you post about this book I'll just yet again comment how much I love its thinking. And then I'll tell *one more time* that I teach "Teachings of Grass" in English Comp alongside a traditional scientific paper etc. etc. etc.

It's just nice to talk about something pedagogical that I love and feel excited about.

I'm re-reading Jo-Ann Archibald's Indigenous Storywork for a book group I forgot I was leading on Friday and it's amazing to refresh those ideas too.

HAHAHA have I told you in the last 24 hours that I'm teaching First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Voices English next year and that I'm really nervous about it and want to pick your brain? I actually ordered a copy of this book before I finished reading it for the school because I knew it'd be good but I didn't realize it would be this good.

Placed a hold on Indigenous Storywork too. I've read some of it but not all of it.

I mean I'd be so into that. Also I have great colleagues who would be into that.

This is probably too short notice, but if you got the second half read by next Friday (June 11), you could come to our Zoom chat about it. I already asked.

If that seems horrifying we could do another time.

Well, I just placed a hold, so it's unlikely that I'll get it read in time. Unless you're talking about Braiding Sweetgrass, not Indigenous Storywork. I'm finished Braiding Sweetgrass.

But in general I'd be so into that and beyond grateful. I want this course to be amazing.

No, I was getting way ahead of myself about Indigenous Storywork. But after two weeks of talking about it to smart people, I'll have a lot more to offer you anyway.

Here via network to agree about the excellence of _Braiding Sweetgrass_. I've also been reading it slowly since every essay is a gem. A chapter before bed has helped a lot on some of the hardest days of March 2020.
