Ewww. I found this ad on a conservative blog. How very, very crass.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds this funny. I guess I shouldn't, though. (And I should add that it's gallows-humour funny, not ha-ha funny. If this is all true, she's screwed over a lot of people. But how could you not be suspicious of someone who writes "How empowering!" about a demo?)

Here's where I was last night. More photos. I showed up to be supportive and left before any hardcore praying happened.

Via [livejournal.com profile] anarchists: Noam Chomsky, having failed to discuss the nefarious scheme to put fluoride in our water supply, is obviously in pay of the Judeo-Bolshevik One World Government. Oh teh nooes!

Remember that one person in the replies to the article points out that the FBI has 'exposed' people as informants who were not informants in order to spark infighting.

It's happened many times in the IWW, and at least once in the Philly IWW: to me. Bekken and his buddies did it to me. I can't talk to Philly Wobs because of Bekken, because he has them thinking I was a fed. I did accuse Bekken of being a fed, but I was the latest in hundreds to say that. The man acts like an infiltrator. He was constantly starting infights so I criticized him and started asking questions of other Wobs around the country. This came back at me later. I think he snitch-jacketed me.

One of my problems is probably that I look so white-bread and I'm a teacher, and only came relatively late in life to the Left. This Anna informer very much looks the part. I'm sure she's a paid informer however, not a cop herself. She doesn't have the body I'm used to seeing on FBI agents, who have to be rather physical.

I've heard that if you ask a cop whether or not he/she's a cop, they're legally supposed to admit they are. I don't know if this is true or not. So if you walk up to someone and make a reference in a joking way, and ask them if they're a cop...

eh, anyway..... just the first thought that jumped into my mind when I saw this.

it's not true that cops have to honestly ID themselves if you ask...i'd find something on, like, snopes or whatever but i lack motivation...

I was gonna say tho, if she is a cop, i'll be damned! I've never seen an undercover look that authentic! "anna" tot. looks like a medic!

tho she sure likes that scarf...

Prostitutes too, or at least the ones on TV...

The undercover johns never seem to have to be honest. Again, basing this entirely on cop shows. Heh.

Heh. Probably would find it funnier if it wasn't for our experience at CAAT - our (now ex-) National Campaigns Co-ordinator Martin Hogbin was exposed as a spy - and boy had he had fun playing with our heads - but such was the internal politics of the movement - that he'd done quite a bit to exacerbate - that some other related campaigns still believe in him, and believe he was the victim of a conspiracy, in spite of the overwhelming evidence against him. One of the most solid and hardcore activists I know has the bastard as Godfather to her child.

Come to think of it, there's quite a funny side to all that too, from a certain twisted point of view. ;)

My former PhD Supervisor (former because of completion of PhD not because he turned out to be a spy) has a theory that most left-wing groups are actually run by MI5 agents. That they take on all the onerous responsibilities such as being Treasurer and Secretary and so forth when no-one else wants to, because otherwise they lose a fairly cushy assignment.

It was pretty nasty - Martin really groomed some of the more activisty types in CAAT, and played up divisions between them and other sections of CAAT, often saying different things to different people, with the result that when it all broke, they were inclined to believe him, so some of them left CAAT and concentrated on more direct-activist type organisations, that he's still involved in. There was one really stupid decision by Steering Committee to scale back relations with this anti-arms fair direct-activist umbrella group, that was pretty much the final straw for some of the CAAT activists type, and that Martin himself bemoaned vociferously - turned out he was the one who suggested in to the committee in the first place! He made himself almost like a father to one former staff-member, who had been one of most effective and level-headed guys around, but who when Martin was accused of all this was really messed up by it, didn't believe it of course, and pretty much made an ass of himself in the way he behaved. He wants nothing more to do with CAAT of course.

I didn't get done over nearly so bad, but he played with my head lots. I generally took the side of things that he was pretending to be on in the various disagreements, and there were several occasions where he set me up for a fall, nudging me in certain directions and then backing out of the battle at the critical moment. And I put it down to weakness and forgave him each time. But when the truth started to come out - he made a total schoolboy error by leaving all his emails to the right-wing consultancy that was employing him on the commonly-viewable email system - I realised, "actually that explains a lot".

This is one person I have quite a bit of difficulty forgiving. I pretty much don't give a shit about whatever info he passed on, I doubt it actually did the arms companies a lot of good. It's the head-fucking.

I'm secretary/treasurer of the Ottawa wobs. It's not that hard of a job, but it's still something a cop would really have to be stupid for doing. I can see where being treasurere might fuck up a branhc, but as long as you can't sign cheques, then the worst thing an infiltrator could do as a secretary is not send in reports.

(of course I know there's plenty a cop could do in that position, I'm just saying.)

Invest in the Dinar!

It's funny, because they're all vultures who're probably convincing themselves that it's for the good of the Iraqis to put a dribble of cash into propping up the Dinar. But they'll lose their shirts anyway. I mean, the anchor of the ABC News just got blown almost to bits in Iraq. Things are great there.

Wow...you're a glutton for punishment

What is it about the Right that makes them such appallingly bad writers? That Chomsky article made my eyeballs itch.

Afraid Rense is just another of those standard-brand Jew-haters that pollute the airwaves over in the USA, only with added UFOs a la Art Bell. File next to the likes of Kevin Alfred Strom, "Pastor" Pete Peters and Bo Gritz, preferably down the deepest hole you can find.

Alex Jones is our homegrown whackjob..he believes in Masonic conspiracies and all this other weird shit..http://www.infowars.com If you look at the links on his site, they are all to anti-U.N., anti-immigration, militias or survivalist groups, some "Nationalist Party" and other really nasty shit.

Ok, maybe I'll get to it later... I spent my lunch break listening to my coworkers masturbate about Hillary Clinton's visit to San Francisco. Ugh.

I don't think it's that crass to play the Iraq currency markets. After all, if you want to believe all is fine and peachy let them lose their money.
