jvmatucha had the awesome idea of hosting an LJ potluck the other day, so I am swiping his idea and inviting everyone with the idea that maybe it'll turn into a big food meme. Everyone loves a potluck!
We used to sit in the house in Tuwani and do food porn. When you're faced with the forty-third meal in a row that will involve nothing more than rice, lentils and potatoes, all you want is to order a pizza. We'd sit in the front yard and go "hot dogs... mmmmm.... oh yeah... I could go for a pizza.... yeah, how about a nice smoothie.... oh god, yes!"
There's a story that goes around about our team in Chiapas about seven years ago. In the village where they were living, they ate beans and tortillas for every meal. EVERY meal, and no spices or salt or anything. The day someone showed up with a lime was like Christmas, and I know a few people who count that as the best meal of their lives.

Date: 2006-03-03 10:23 pm (UTC)To me, a 'ticky box' is a box (rectangular, nay, square), the kind you fill with an X- or V-shaped checkmark.
What you have so brazenly called a 'ticky box' is a 'radio button', and I refuse to push it!
Viva la Revolution!
