I was going to post a rather mean-spirited prank about how said alleged Al-Qaeda operative was actually me, and the reason I hadn't posted for several days was because I was being detained by CSIS, but you know what? I can't even joke about that stuff anymore.

Several of the Al-Qaeda pilots of September 11 trained at the University of Oklahoma's flight school in my hometown of Norman.

And the Oklahoma City Bombing was 20 miles away from me on my 20th birthday.

Maybe we should have invaded Oklahoma? (I'm rather surprised our Texan president didn't consider it.)

My little town was also in the news about a year ago, when an Iraqi-Canadian truck driver from Newmarket was murdered by U.S. soldiers. That was quickly hushed up, though.

The whole idea of an Al-Qaeda terrorist hiding out in Whitey McCrackerville makes me giggle. I suspect this fellow is not the real deal. In the article, they mention that he's not actually part of Al-Qaeda; he's linked to some other group that's linked to Al-Qaeda, which means that what probably happened is that some suspicious neighbour went, "Oh look! A brown person" and they arrested him. Just a guess.

If they carpet-bombed Newmarket as the new hotbed of terrorism, I'd be sad, but only because my parents still live there. I wonder if they know this guy.

I don't joke about stuff like that either, not necessarily because it may be in bad taste, more because I'm paranoid.

We have a local small town terrorist case in Lodi.
