Hey, that's my hometown!

I was going to post a rather mean-spirited prank about how said alleged Al-Qaeda operative was actually me, and the reason I hadn't posted for several days was because I was being detained by CSIS, but you know what? I can't even joke about that stuff anymore.

Maybe we should have invaded Oklahoma? (I'm rather surprised our Texan president didn't consider it.)

Date: 2006-04-01 05:37 pm (UTC)The whole idea of an Al-Qaeda terrorist hiding out in Whitey McCrackerville makes me giggle. I suspect this fellow is not the real deal. In the article, they mention that he's not actually part of Al-Qaeda; he's linked to some other group that's linked to Al-Qaeda, which means that what probably happened is that some suspicious neighbour went, "Oh look! A brown person" and they arrested him. Just a guess.
If they carpet-bombed Newmarket as the new hotbed of terrorism, I'd be sad, but only because my parents still live there. I wonder if they know this guy.

Date: 2006-04-01 07:00 pm (UTC)I don't joke about stuff like that either, not necessarily because it may be in bad taste, more because I'm paranoid.
We have a local small town terrorist case in Lodi.
