"A political party, in order to be viable, is one that professes peace, in my judgment..." -- Georgie-Porgie

(Hat-tip: [livejournal.com profile] constintina.)

In fairness, it's quite easy to profess peace without actually doing anything about it. Not to mention that the chimpresident and friends have been quite successful in re-defining "peace," "democracy," and "freedom" to mean "we're going to invade your country and kill you a lot" in the popular consciousness.

I don't think he gets enough credit for being clever with words.

Here's a recent favorite of mine.
"See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda." — Bush in Greece

Oops! I just did it a comment down! LOL

Although not "break" as much as "prove" or "support". Hope he chokes on the cookie, anyway.

Yeah. I guess that quote was a while ago-May 2005. I heard it the first time yesterday. It was apparently at a school in NY.

As for the "profess peace" quote- I'm guessing he's referring to Hamas? Not that it matters- Newspeak.

What's "viable" mean, exactly? The NSDAP certainly looked viable for quite a few years in Germany...

I have nothing else of purpose to share here except that.

Back when I was an adult advisor at Unitarian Church youth conferences, when some of the youth would push the envelope on acceptable behavior, I would comment, "I really don't want to have to pretend to be a responsible adult."

I pretty much succeeded in evading having to pretend to be one.

You think his schtick is his own? I know. I watch West Wing and Martin Sheen never writes his. There are some really good politicians who, presently, write their own, like Alex Salmond , leader of the Nats in Scotland. He's good. Would never let anyone else write for him. Winston Churchill wrote his own. Couldn't dress himself, but had a good presentation. Bush has a speechwriter Orwell would be proud of.

True, but there is also something to be said for delivery.

Okay - this is too easy.

Stopping now. I simply don't have time in my day to pick and choose bullshit off of his record. There is too wide an ocean of it.

The problem is that a satirist can't mock him by exaggerating what he might say. He has successfully preempted them at every turn.
