Well, I guess if you were in hairdressing school...

Oh I give up. There's no way for that sign to be anything other than stupid.

I was a pretty erratic and inconsistent student. It must have been the mousse.

No hair = not graded or symbol of 'assignment not completed as requested'?

I'm so used to the non sequitur in advertising that it actually took me a minute to figure out what was wrong with this ad.

What's wrong with it is that they just up and spelled out the logical fallacy instead of masking it with visual and rhetorical tricks. It would be like if those iPod billboards said, "Remember: when you want to dance like a black, you need earbud headphones."

I sorta snorted with laughter when I read this.

I'll remember this when I'm next grading papers. Maybe I could just get the students to submit photos instead of essays.

Why stop there? You could have them compete in the beauty contest. The girls getting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd all get A's.

Why just the girls? I've had some very pretty boys in my classes. Surely they deserved As.

Would you happen to know what hair care product I can buy to make my freaking lab project work? I'd like to graduate in June.

The great thing about camera phones (or phone cameras) is never missing out on capturing even the smallest amusements of daily life, not for those cheesy Kodak pictures with happy families and picnics.

Perhaps sub-par hair care products cause brain damage?

This may have something to do with "brainwashing"? (snicker)

Of course, let's not forget the Wal-Mart in East York, Penn., whose "Back To School" sale a few years ago included shotgun shells. A full variety was offered, from small game loads to skeet rounds, at $29.80 for "a large box." A store spokesman said the same "Back To School" price placard was used for all sale items throughout the store (but still....).

Jesus Fucking Christ! What IS it with you all!!??

The hair care sign is cute, I'll admit, but why the fuck isn't everyone talking about those awesome statutes!!??

They.are.in-credible!

Then again, nobody commented on my Tom Otterness post ages ago either. I guess people don't appreciate amazing statuary.

I've been looking at additional statues people have posted in the comments thread. (Jeez, some people are stodgy troglodytes.) Have you seen the Cat Mask Statue? Here it is again without a human. I confess a certain fondness for the cartoony works. This is a "Monument to Happiness" in Russia.

The dog one I find bizarrely depressing.

Either it's ironic or it's a happily sated wolf zoning on lamb-tryptophan.

I've got a picture of myself next to the statue of the old woman in Bruxelles. It's near the post office where I bought a stamp.

The first one is my favourite though. I love that he's beating all of those kids off of him.

Salamander loves playing with tape. I'm not sure what she'd do with the bacon, though.

I wish there were better sculpture around here. So much of it is what I see as neo-fascist - idealized skinny white people looking athletic, instead of sturdy, muscular white people. There were even people all in a twitter in a town not far from here about the installation of nude sculptures in a public place. Twits.

I need to move to whatever university whose students are the advertisement's targets. I need GREAT HAIR CARE PRODUCTS, and LOTS of it.
