Remember, remember, the 13th of November
Oct. 19th, 2006 04:36 pmOkay, fellow Hogtowners: Who here can link me to a reasonable guide to the candidates running in the municipal elections? Normally I'd be up on this stuff myself, but my personal life has been such a mess lately that I haven't been following the race at all. I mean, I know that
himy is running in my ward (that'd be a shameless plug, by the way), and I know that I want to see Pitfield's campaign go down in flames, but do I know from school trustees? No. So who wants to hook me up with some info and/or discuss who you're voting for, if you're voting.
I'm in Ward 19, should you come across ward-specific guides.

Date: 2006-10-19 05:00 pm (UTC)Here's some stuff:
Official (therefore boring and bogus) City of Toronto Elections website.
Wikipedia on the 2006 Toronto elections (WTF??? How can you have an encyclopedia entry on something that hasn't happened yet?), and stuff on Ward 19.
And, probably better reading, Eye's Elections Blog.
Monday, Nov. 6, there's an Election Thing at Revival. Wanna go?

Date: 2006-10-19 09:29 pm (UTC)Off topic, once more: Do you still have that link to the potty-mouthed old guy ranting about the cost of a cup of coffee at Starbucks?
Re: Off Topic Toronto Stuff
Date: 2006-10-19 10:22 pm (UTC)That would be: Stick it up your ass, fuckin' Starbucks. Fuckin' right!

Many thanks, I added it to a comment in my gentrification post. Did you see the Onion article I tacked onto it?

Date: 2006-10-19 10:24 pm (UTC)I like Sewell. Don't know as much about Mihevc.
School trustees are important, at least insofar as I want to vote for someone who's not going to be all Safe Schools-obsessive or wants to bash the teachers' union. I take those things personally. ;)
