Sadly, that evening marked the last show ever for my favourite klezmer band, Pomegranate.


Apologies for the craptastic quality of these photos, but they're wearing bras made out of kippahs, so I had to share.

Alas, the video is of even shittier quality than the photos. You also can't make out the slideshow that well, but it was terribly funny and suggested certain uses for Palestinian fair trade olive oil that I don't think had occurred to the Zatoun folks. Someone from Jewish Women's Committee to End the Occupation is a public health nurse and was obliged to comment that it isn't safe to combine olive oil and latex. In case you were wondering.

Cool, Pomegranate seem fun. How do you know about these events going on in Toronto? Or is it just part of being in the loop?

Well, Smokey is in the Wobblies, and Reena (the woman with the funky tie in Pomegranate) is in Jewish Women's Committee to End the Occupation, and they're both friends of mine. So I always know when either of them play somewhere.

Alas, either I'm not that in the loop or there really is nothing going on tomorrow night, because the only event that anyone told me about is the Halloween Rocky Horror Picture Show. *sigh* Do you know of anything cool going on tomorrow night?

The Rocky Horror Show? with real people not just the movie? See? If you were anymore in the loop, you would have your own gravitational field, trapping smaller social groups to feed off their events. err, sorry, I was thinking about Star Trek. The only thing anyone told me about was a Halloween party at the Geography Department of u of t :P
